The Banrisul’s Social, Environmental, and Climate Responsibility Policy (PRSAC)

establishes guidelines that steer the Bank’s and the companies within the prudential conglomerate’s social, environmental, and climate responsibility initiatives, balancing business opportunities with best sustainability practices, while taking into account the nature of each company’s activities and the complexity of its products and services.

Review the key practices related to the effectiveness of the PRSAC and the management of social, environmental, and climate risks:

Identification of Relevant Social, Environmental, and Climate Aspects

The relevant social, environmental, and climate aspects—both actual and potential—associated with our strategies, activities, products, and services, as well as the ongoing management of related risks, are presented in an integrated manner in our Sustainability Report. The document details how these issues are incorporated into the institutional strategy and management processes, in alignment with our Social, Environmental, and Climate Responsibility Policy and risk management practices.

Economic sectors subject to business restrictions

To ensure responsible practices, we have listed economic sectors subject to business restrictions due to social, environmental, or climate-related factors.

Procurement and contract management

Reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and business ethics, our suppliers and partners are guided and evaluated based on social, environmental, and climate criteria.

The Banrisul Supplier Manual contains guidelines on the supply of goods and services, including a specific chapter on social, environmental, and climate responsibility. The Outsourcing Handbook, meanwhile, aims to train employees of suppliers working with the Bank, addressing corporate risks and social, environmental, and climate responsibility practices.

Actions to Ensure the Effectiveness of the PRSAC

To ensure the effectiveness of the Policy, we periodically evaluate and monitor the actions implemented in relation to our products, services, activities, and processes. These actions and the criteria used for evaluation are published in summary form on the Institution’s website; furthermore, the main actions are detailed in the Sustainability Report.

Social, Environmental, and Climate Risk Management

We take a structured approach to identifying, measuring, and assessing social, environmental, and climate risks (SEC Risks) in our operations, products, services, and internal processes. These management processes are documented in the Social, Environmental, and Climate Risks and Opportunities Report.

Products and Services with a Positive Impact

Our portfolio offers products and services that contribute positively to society and the environment. We support family farmers, innovative companies, and projects that promote social inclusion, education, and health. Our financial solutions encourage sustainable practices, such as the use of renewable energy and the responsible management of natural resources.

The sustainable portfolio is structured based on widely recognized methodologies and guidelines, ensuring transparency and traceability in product classification.

Pacts and Commitments

Banrisul is committed to internationally recognized pacts and commitments that reinforce our responsibility in managing socio-environmental and climate impacts and ensure transparency toward our stakeholders. Among these, the following stand out: the UN Global Compact, CDP, and the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program.

These initiatives strengthen our climate governance and position Banrisul as an active agent in the transition to a sustainable economy, aligned with global best practices.

Transparency and Methodologies

To ensure the transparency and comparability of information regarding our sustainability practices, we use internationally recognized methodologies in the preparation of our Sustainability Report: the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). These guidelines reinforce our credibility and commitment to transparency, allowing customers, investors, and society to clearly track our actions and results.
